Finance Committee

Goals and objectives:
1.  To develop and maintain the financial plan that is consistent with meeting the  goals and objectives defined by  the organization for that year.
2   To define and develop the budget necessary to conduct the mission for the non-profit professional organization, GMDI. 
3.  Upon approval of the budget, to work with each of the GMDI committees to conduct activities within the budgetary guidelines and help each group define  sources of income and revenue for the organization as well as help with  maintaining expenditures.
4.  To ensure that operations are conducted within the guidelines established by the IRS for nonprofit organizations.

Activities:  
1.  Provide a financial report to the organization at the annual business meeting
2.  Establish and maintain 501c(3) nonprofit status
3.  Establish banking to be more accessible to the executive board
4.  File taxes consistent with nonprofit
5.  Maintain fiscal year timeline
6.  Move banking from Atlanta, GA to be more nationally accessible
7.  Determine which states to be incorporated with
8.  Assist with development of a fundraising committee
9.  Share financial records with the entire organization and have information accessible on the organization’s website.

Future plans: 
1. Work at maintaining nonprofit status and meeting the necessary requirements as outlined by the IRS
2. Continue to develop activities with the Finance committee which can be delegated to the members of the committee
3. Train Belkys, Prado, Treasurer Elect, on the various activities that need to take place for this organization so that she will be prepared to take over when Elaina Jurecki steps down
4. Define responsibilities of the finance committee for policies and procedures manual
