Goals and objectives:
1. Establish and maintain an up-to-date resource for the nutrient content of all available medical foods.
2. Establish guidelines for the submission and subsequent approval of members' projects that will have GMDI sponsorship, such as surveys and multi-center data collection.
3. Post links to research trials currently recruiting subjects and to potential granting opportunities.
4. Provide guidance for the preparation and submission of abstracts for the presentations at GMDI conferences.
5. Oversee the evaluation of submitted abstracts for acceptance.
6. Review and summarize current literature that pertains to nutritional management of metabolic disorders.
1. Formula data has been posted and the update for this year is in progress.
2. Current literature reviews have been posted. Updates are in progress and the literature reviewed will be expanded.
3. Abstract submission and review for the April 2010 meeting is being organized.
Future plans:
1. Pursue a convenient means for posting links to current studies recruiting subjects and to potential granting opportunities.
2. Establish guidelines for the review of potential projects utilizing the GMDI list serve to conduct surveys.
