GMDI/SERC PKU Guideline Accepted by the National Guideline Clearinghouse

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has accepted the GMDI/SERC PKU Nutrition Management Guideline to be included in the National Guideline Clearinghouse (Guidelines.gov). The accepted publication “Updated, web-based nutrition management guideline for PKU: An evidence and consensus based approach” is the result of a collaborative effort between GMDI and the Southeastern Genetics and Newborn Screening Collaborative (SERC). Funding for the project comes from HRSA (grant number #H46MC24090).

The AHRQ has strict criteria for inclusion of clinical guidelines (link to guideline.gov/help-and-about/summaries/inclusion-criteria). In fact, the GMDI guideline will be the only one on PKU management available on their site.
