VLCAD Guidelines

The Nutrition Management Guideline for Individuals with Very Long Chain Acyl-CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency is part of a larger project undertaken by the Southeast Regional Genetics Network (SERN) (HRSA Region 3) and Genetic and Metabolic Dietitians International (GMDI) to develop nutrition management guidelines for inherited metabolic disorders (IMD).

The guidelines are developed using an evidence analysis and consensus process. GMDI provides content expertise and SERN/Emory University provides financial support, project oversight and infrastructure.  Pat Splett, PhD RD are consultants to the project. Rani H. Singh, PhD, RD and Fran Rohr, MS RD are Co-principal Investigators. Funding for this project has been provided by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant number: #H46MC24090.
