Goals and Activities:
1. To increase GMDI membership
Market GMDI membership via listservs, newsletters, journals and GMDI website
2. To review annually and update in consultation with the Communication Committee a Membership Package that includes:
a. Current GMDI Brochure
b. List of Benefits of Membership
c. Mentorship information
d. List of members expertise
3. To review annually in consultation with the Communications Committee a GMDI membership registration form to include:
a. Areas of clinical experience
Goal: to build a knowledge resource within GMDI
b. Determine the interest of all members in volunteering for GMDI committees including Executive Committee
Goal: to increase general membership involvement in GMDI committees and Executive Committee in order to have ongoing transition within a vital organization
c. Annual permission to use name/address of membership for promotional purposes
Goal: create a list that can be sold to increase funding for GMDI activities
d. Determine members interest/willingness to participate in mentorship for new dietitians
Goal: to provide an adjunct to current training programs with a goal of supporting clinical expertise in the membership
4. To review all new membership applications to ensure they meet the qualifications for membership in GMDI
5. To notify members when annual membership is due
6. To annually provide a roster of candidates for Board positions
a. In consultation with current Committee Chairs and Executive Committee maintain a current and complete job description for each position
b. Provide written job descriptions to each potential candidate
